R&D Partners Stopping in Boston for Moving North: Strengthening Boston-Montreal Ties
2 min read
R&D Partners is proud to announce they will be stopping in Boston on March 21st to build on their Moving North initiative. They will again be playing host to innovative technology and life sciences companies from the Boston area who want to learn about Montreal’s significant cost advantages and abundance of highly specialized talent.
The first stop was in NYC, and it was a major success. One NY-based B2B SaaS company has since set up a Canadian R&D data team. European markets are to be visited later this year.
The Boston event is once again supported by Invest Quebec, Montreal International, Global Affairs Canada, and Andersen Tax. Community support is provided by Mass Challenge, Cleantech Open Northeast, LearnLaunch, WeWork 200 Portland, Founder Institute, Creative Destruction Lab Montreal, and Startup Weekend.
“Montreal has many characteristics that make it appealing to high-growth tech companies looking for deep technical talent,” says Mike Lee, President of R&D Partners. “Developers and scientists like to live in Montreal because it’s a hip, affordable, and highly educated city. Employers love the deep talent that, due in part to grants and tax credits, can be significantly less expensive”.

Furthermore, with over 9000 university students, Montreal remains the largest university research center in Canada with a model based on collaborative development and public/private partnerships.
